Carlos was born in Emmett, Idaho and attended school Emmett and Boise. Carlos enlisted in the US Navy serving in the far-east aboard ship and later with the US Marines as a medical corpsman. He also served in the reserve for the next 14 years. After his active service he attended college in California and Washington. He was hired by the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, starting as a quality inspector and rising to the rank of senior quality manager. Following his retirement from Boeing, Carlos returned to Emmett with his wife Nancy. It wasn’t long before Carlos became interested in politics, starting as a Republican precinct worker and then on the campaigns of Senator Mike Crapo and Congressman Otter. He was elected to the Idaho House in 2004 and currently serves on State Affairs, Business and Health and Welfare committees and the Healthcare task force. Not one to get let time slide under his feet, he also serves his community by being on the Board of Walter Knox Hospital – Kiwanis – Lions – Caldwell Elks – Sportsman Caucus – Emmett Gun Club – American Legion. Carlos found time in retirement to serve the Gem County jail facility bond committee. Upon passing the bond, he was the architectural design team leader and project manager for the building of the facility. Carlos and Nancy have been married for 53 years, have 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Nancy is employed by Boise State University while Carlos serves the people of Idaho.
